Building Healthier Babies Program

Building Healthier Babies promotes healthy pregnancies and positive early parenting experiences. Women of all ages are welcome to attend throughout their pregnancy until their baby is six months old.

BHB provides individual information sessions on:

• Importance of early physician care during pregnancy
• Nutrition during pregnancy
• Decreased smoking, alcohol and drug use during pregnancy
• Breastfeeding
• How to have a healthy pregnancy and parenting experience
• Social and community supports
• Healthy physical activity

BHB also provides:

• Food vouchers and vitamins
• Maternity and baby clothing exchange
• Prenatal Classes (sign up for the next set)

Weekly Group:

Wednesday 11:00 – 1:00

Discussions, special speakers, games and crafts are planned. A variety of topics are covered, including both prenatal and postpartum care.

Wednesday afternoon (1:00-3:00) is drop-in. Participants can stop by for a visit and voucher. This is a time to stop by if you are unable to attend group or to book a visit any other time of the week.

Building Blocks Program

(Limited enrollment, program duration: 3 years.)

Weekly Group Thursday 11:00-1:00  Discussions, special speakers, games, activities and crafts. A variety of topics are covered to encourage healthy parenting and child development. Nutritious lunch included. Encourages parents to have positive family experiences.

For families who feel they need extra parenting support and information.

Regular information visits provide information on:

• Parent-child interaction
• Bonding
• Language Development
• Creative play
• Child Development
• Nutrition
• Health and safety

Parenting Groups

a variety of parenting support groups are offered on an ongoing basis. These include:

• Nobodys Perfect
• Mother Goose
• Infant Massage
• Prenatal Classes

Fathers Group

For fathers/male caregivers & their preschool children.

Activities, education, parenting support and discussions. Dads are welcome with or without their children. Expectant dads are welcome
